Welcome

CAM-FAN was originally opened as a drop in centre to provide association and support in a caring relaxed atmosphere. This is still at the heart of our philosophy.

Description of Service

The following is a description and explanation of the current services and facilities offered through CAM-FAN to aid those with mental health problems.

SUPPORTING PEOPLE
CAM-FAN provides the Supporting People Project 7 days a week as and when required, enabling clients to lead full and active lives. Keeping clients safe, and enabling clients to maintain their own well-being with support in the community.
CAM-FAN Supporting People support workers must work a full induction in the CAM-FAN drop-in centre and be known to the client, demonstrating a good working relationship before pursuing a one to one programme of care with the client.

CRAFT WORK SHOP
CAM-FAN provides a craft workroom encouraging and enabling clients with long and short term mental health problems the opportunity to achieve in a craft activity as and when able. Building confidence in their own ability and self worth. We currently have a dedicated craft worker comming in one day a week to help members with their projects.

COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES
CAM-FAN at present offers massage, reflexology and relaxation sessions once a week and Chiropody once a month. We hope to expand our range and availability of services in the future.

PARTNERSHIP WORKING
CAM-FAN continues to look towards partnership working, developing good communication with all agencies. Maintaining clients feelings of being safe and well supported in the community.

The Future

As CAM-FAN grows we intend to adapt our services in line with the needs of our Clients and the changing face of Mental Health Care strategies as set out by the Welsh Assembly Government.

NATIONAL LOTTERY FUNDING
With help from the 'Big Lottery Fund' we are looking forward to purchasing our building and having a complete re-fit to enhance our facilities and provide a community centre that the whole area can be proud of.
